September Newsletter for Alabama

The Rose Center has had a very busy, exciting end to the summer! The entire month of August was filled with the In Her Shoes Gala planning and on August 30th, the gala itself! The event was incredibly successful as we had over 250 guests attend and over $10,000 in donations raised benefiting the Rose Center. Most of all, the issue of human trafficking in the area of South Alabama, and especially Mobile, was finally recognized and brought to light. Eyes and ears were opened and lives were changed.

In addition to the increased awareness and support from the community from the gala, The Rose Center is so thankful to now be partnered with Strickland Youth Center. This is the home to the Mobile County Juvenile Detention Center and Mobile County Juvenile Court. Here, our Alabama team will teach trauma training and help in preventative efforts with the youth in the entire South Alabama region. This is a huge achievement!

In the six months The Rose Center has been open, there have been a total of twenty-one client referrals and seventy-eight services provided.
Our latest project is the Race For Hope: https://cityhope.cc/events/2018/10/13/race-for-hope. On October 13th, City Hope Church hosted a 5K run chose to make the Rose Center the recipient of all funds raised. This year, Race for Hope raised $28,000 for the Rose Center! We are incredibly honored and amazed at the outpouring of support from the community and we cannot wait to share with you the exponential growth the Rose Center will continue to experience.
