October Newsletter for Alabama

Our Alabama Team has had a very exciting month of October! Not only has there been an incredible fundraiser for the Rose Center and several community outreach teachings on trauma-informed care, but the Center's enrichment and coping skills resources are continuing to grow as well!
From Core Studio in Daphne, Alabama, Sarah donated her expertise and passion and lead our first yoga class at the Rose Center. She did such a wonderful job leading our girls through grounding and restorative flows. She helped them see how powerful and fierce they are, and she helped them pull from their inner sources of strength. We can’t wait for the next session!
Our Alabama Director, Crystal Yarborough, was the guest speaker at the Mobile Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force Meeting at the US Attorney's Office. On behalf of Eye Heart World and The Rose Center, she spoke about trauma-informed care--a subject that plays a key role in understanding the issue of human trafficking prevention, prosecution, and aftercare.
Our volunteer team is growing exponentially at The Rose Center. We have seen a huge increase in women expressing interest to begin our volunteer process in the month of October. Many of these women offered their services in our day-to-day operations, event and life classes as tutors, health coaches, and more!
On October 13th, City Hope Church hosted a 5K run called the Race For Hope and generously made The Rose Center the recipients of funds raised. The support and love from not only the church, but also the community, still has us in awe. We're so grateful that over 400 people ran the race and raised an amazing $28,000!
"Thank you for loving people like me."
During the run, our co-founder shared a vision God had given her several years ago. It was a vision of more and more people surrounding Eye Heart World. As she listed the names of the those she recalled being in the vision, she paused and said, "It was City Hope; City Hope surrounding our girls and us, and we ventured out to bring more and more girls into our care."
We are so thankful for City Hope Church, those who donated, and those who ran. Thank you City Hope, for, in the words of a Rose Center participant, "For loving people like me."
We cannot wait to share with you in next month's newsletter all the good that is happening with Eye Heart World in South Alabama, introduce you to our Rose Center Team, and most of all share how your support is helping these girls feel loved in a way that they never have before.
