“Break the silence. Stop the violence.”

In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, our Alabama team attended Rape Crisis Center’s Take Back the Night event.

Along with local advocates, survivors, and supporters of the fight against sexual violence and exploitation, our team was honored to participate in a candlelight vigil and moment of remembrance of victims and survivors of sexual assault.

Ending the night with a walk of solidarity around Langan Park in Mobile, Alabama, this event brought awareness, education, and answers to sexual assault in the community.

West Mobile Rotary Club

Our Alabama team is extremely honored to have spoken at a West Mobile Rotary Club meeting. The West Mobile Rotary Club says that their object is to “encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise.” Since being established in 1910, their motto has been “Service Above Self.”

Rotary strives to achieve its objective of their motto through activities in five primary areas. These Avenues of Service are Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service, and New Generations Service.

We are so thankful to have organizations standing beside us in the South Alabama Community committed to helping others.

Mother-Daughter Bonding

We love getting creative with unique and special experiences for each participant in our Rose Center program. We had one of the participants come with her daughters for a ‘tea party’ and bonding experience. They got to sit and ask each other questions without distractions.

Our favorite part was when the participant asked her daughter, “What is something that you’re proud of?”

Her daughter looked at her mom and said, “I am proud of you!”

Tee Off Rally

The Rose Center hosted the Tee-Off Against Trafficking Rally! We shared stories from our first year, our impact report, and our vision of what lies ahead. This was an awesome event as people came with passion in their hearts and determination to further the mission of Eye Heart World: to create a community where human trafficking can no longer thrive.

This event kicked off registration leading to a fun day of golf at Timber Creek Golf Course in Spanish Fort, Alabama on June 1st. This will not be your typical golf tournament. Golf skills are not even necessary! The only necessity is your heart joined with ours to see hope take root in the hopeless and freedom spring up in the enslaved.

LECC Training in Selma

This April, our Alabama Director attended the 24th annual Law Enforcement Summit Training in Selma, Alabama. Read more about it here!

Interview with APR

Alabama Public Radio is doing a 14-month study on human trafficking in this area. As part of this study, their Pat Higgins visited The Rose Center to learn about our program and the types of issues we encounter.
